Bolasie set to miss African Cup because of knee injury

LIVERPOOL, England (AP) - Congo winger Yannick Bolasie is set to miss the African Nations Cup after damaging knee ligaments on club duty with Everton in the Premier League.

Everton said Monday that scans confirmed Bolasie has a "serious ligament injury" that requires surgery.

Everton didn't say how long it expected Bolasie to be sidelined. The African Nations Cup runs from Jan. 14-Feb. 5

Bolasie was hurt in Everton's 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday.
