AAAC celebrates its 15th Crystal Anniversary & Holiday Party with Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White

The Secretary of State Asian American Advisory Council celebrated its 15th Crystal Anniversary of AAAC Holiday Party on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the Lone Tree Manor Banquet Hall & Catering, 7730 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles. The great event shines a spotlight on the Asian American community by recognizing Top Asian Community Achievers and their significant contributions to American society.

The main purpose of the Asian American Advisory Council is consultation, communication, and cooperation with all community under one platform. Also ensure that the State Executive is well informed of and able to act effectively to respond to the needs and concerns of Asian Americans living and/or working in Chicago and Illinois.

Chicagoland's large and diverse Asian community was widely represented at the event. It drew roughly 350 attendees, including prominent members of top Asian community, Asian American business community, civic and Community leaders, small business owners, representatives from large companies, and several consul general from Asian countries, few Suburban's mayors and representatives from Asian embassies.

The event was emceed by Judy Wang. She is a well-known Anchor and Reporter with WGN-TV & CLTV News Chicago. The program started with opening remarks SOS AAAC Event Chair Yesoe Yoon and welcome address from the current council chair Martino Tangkar. AAAC chairman Tangkar said "I would like to thank the Asian community for their support and encouragement this year,"

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White gave a keynote address at a Holiday Party dinner. He explained we are serving community & humanity regardless you race and religions. He also explains about Illinois is getting new license plates starting in January 2017. The newly designed plates will be free of charge. In some cases we will charge. The program is necessary because plate reflectivity diminishes with age, making it difficult for law enforcement to read plate numbers.

The guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner. The program included Asian musical entertainment. Northern Chinese Lion Dance performed by Chinese Gong Fu Institute and Zhang Tai Ji Wellness Center, Korean Dance "Hour Glass Shape Drum Dance' was performed by Kallah Mission, Indonesian Dance "Balinese Pendet Dance" performed by Indonesian Consulate General, Korean Folk Song Performed by Baritone, Suyong Lee and several holiday Song by Yesoe Yoon, Benjamin Horvat & Rumyana Slabowski

Chicagoland's Few Asian Community leaders received awards from Secretary of State who have excelled outstanding contributions support in Advisory Council & Community. Also All the members of the Council received Shields. The event was a huge success.

Organizers announced from next year, Carmen Estacio will be the new Chair Person of the AAAC

This program was grand sponsored by many Asian American members such as Mr. Bala Ghimire, Mr. Sadr Uddin Noorani, and Chinese American Museum Of Chicago - Raymond B. & Jean T. Lee Center and others.
