NOTABLE

Penn State: After finishing the season with a nine-game winning streak and a victory over Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game, the Nittany Lions are back in the Rose Bowl for the first time since 2009.

USC: After a 1-3 start to coach Clay Helton's first full season in charge, the Trojans have won eight straight to return to their favorite postseason destination, leapfrogging Colorado to grab the berth.
