It's a Wonderful Life ... In Lake Bluff

Lake Bluff, IL - December 2, 2016 -The downtown Lake Bluff merchants are kicking off the holiday season with the village's annual "It's a Wonderful Life … In Lake Bluff" celebration on Saturday, December 3.

Residents and visitors alike will revel in the holiday atmosphere complete with reindeer on the village green, old fashioned horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, roasted chestnuts, a visit from Santa Claus, one of Santa's elves hosting a children's story time, and raffles to win gifts and prizes from participating local merchants.

To top off the festivities, the gazebo on the Village Green will come alive with a lighting ceremony complete with sing-along caroling with Lake Bluff Middle School singers.

The schedule of events includes the following:

11 am-4 pm Lake Bluff History Museum Historic Christmas Home Tours

11-1 Storytelling with the library elf (Lake Bluff Library)

1-3 Carriage rides sponsored by Lake Forest Bank & Trust

1-4 Reindeer on the Green

1-4 Visit with Santa Claus at the Lake Bluff History Museum

1-4 Holiday decorating activities at the Lake Bluff Library

4-5 Strolling music by the LFHS Holiday Brass and The Buckthorns

5 Lighting ceremony and caroling by the LB Middle School Singers

A feature of the afternoon will be the Lake Bluff History Museum's holiday tour. The self-guided tour brings to life the splendor of history and the holidays in each of the featured homes including ones from the Camp Meeting era and Artist's Colony days.
