Top vote-getter often hasn't won

The seemingly never-ending election season is over just in time for the next one to begin. The outcome has been determined and like it or not, we must all accept it.

Rioting is not a solution but more a display of infantile frustration. Peaceful demonstration is a more acceptable way to go and showing up at the ballot box next time is the most appropriate goal. In either event the result is the same.

The only thing that I take exception to is the statement that asserted that the majority of voters selected Trump; the majority of the Electoral College will select Trump. Clinton, as did Gore, had the majority of votes and only through the archaic mechanism of the Electoral College (and the Supreme Court of course) did a different person actually become president. Perhaps if one had not slept through social studies in school one would actually be aware of how a person becomes president.

Doesn't it bother anyone that in 40 percent of the last five presidential elections the person who actually won the most votes failed to become the president?
