Walker scores 24, including game-winner, for Greyhounds

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) - Andre Walker scored 24 points, making the game-winning layup with .5 seconds remaining to give Loyola (Md.) a 71-70 victory over Stony Brook on Wednesday night.

Kameron Mitchell was fouled in the paint and his two free throws gave the Seawolves (1-5) a 70-69 lead. Walker took the inbounds pass with seven seconds left and drove the floor with his layup bouncing up off the back of the rim and through the hoop.

Mitchell scored his only other two points of the game on free throws with a 1:06 remaining for a 66-65 lead. Jared Jones drove to the basket to get the lead back for the Greyhounds (3-4) before Tyrell Sturdivant, who had 18 points, scored underneath for the Seawolves (1-5). Jones again drove to the hoop to score with 24 seconds left for a 69-68 edge.

Stony Brook finished the first half on a 13-0 run to take a 35-33 lead and neither team led by more than three points in the final nine minutes.
