No. 20 DePaul beats Northwestern 89-66

CHICAGO (AP) - Jessica January had 25 points, six rebounds and six assists Saturday night and No. 20 DePaul beat Northwestern 89-66.

The Blue Demons (3-1) took control beginning at the 5-minute mark of the third quarter, turning a four-point advantage into an 86-55 lead - their largest of the night - with 2:49 left in the game. January scored 11 during that stretch and DePaul outscored the Wildcats 39-12.

Ashton Millender had 13 points and Kelly Campbell scored 12 for DePaul. Jacqui Grant and Tanita Allen added 10 points each.

DePaul took 35 of its 68 field-goal attempts from 3-point range, making 15 from distance. Campbell made four 3s and January and Millender hit three each.

Lauren Douglas had 18 points and Ashley Deary scored 14 for Northwestern (3-1). The Wildcats led 29-25 late in the first half before DePaul closed with a 13-1 run.
