Starrett re-elected in Kane board District 10

Republican Susan Starrett of North Aurora has won re-election for Kane County Board District 10, according to unofficial results.

She received 5,669 votes to Democrat Todd Zies' 5,195, with all 15 precincts reporting.

Starrett is in her first term. Zies was seeking his first elected office.

Starrett had supported county board Chairman Chris Lauzen's county property-tax freeze in the past, but joined the board in increasing it this year to take advantage of new property growth. She was one of six forest preserve commissioners, however, to vote against increasing that agency's tax levy.
