Diane Hewitt romps to return to Lake County Board
Diane Hewitt coasted to victory Tuesday to return to the Lake County Board.
Unofficial vote totals from Tuesday's election show the 61-year-old Democrat from Waukegan garnered 8,033 votes to 3,297 for Republican challenger Darryln G. Coleman, 29, a student.
All votes are considered unofficial until canvassed later this month.
Hewitt has been a Lake County Board member since 2008. She said she's fought to improve infrastructure and roads in District 2, which includes areas in Newton, Zion, Benton, Warren and Waukegan townships.
