Naperville man charged with possessing child porn
A Naperville man faces charges of child pornography and attempting to obstruct justice by destroying evidence.
A federal grand jury in Chicago indicted Floyd O'Hara, 62, on one count of possessing child pornography, one count of conversion of government property and two counts of obstruction of justice.
O'Hara's arraignment is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Nov. 10 before U.S. District Judge Rebecca R. Pallmeyer in Chicago.
Authorities said a flash drive and a laptop computer belonging to O'Hara contained child pornography.
The obstruction charges stem from O'Hara's attempt to alter, destroy and conceal two hard drives, authorities said.
A former employee of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, O'Hara is accused of converting for his own use eight devices owned by the EPA without the EPA's authorization.
The charges in the indictment are punishable by a total maximum sentence of 70 years in prison.
