Aurora men charged with theft in North Aurora

Three Aurora men were charged with felony theft after police witnessed them stealing sheets of metal Sunday from a North Aurora business, authorities said.

An officer saw a gray pickup truck pull behind a closed business about 10:15 a.m. on the 200 block of Poplar Place. Two men jumped a fence, took several large sheets of metal and slid them under the fence to the third man, who loaded them into the pickup truck, police said.

Police stopped the men and later discovered that all three were linked to similar thefts at the same location on Oct. 2, authorities said.

John C. Parsons, 52, of the 900 bock of Loucks Street, John D. Braaksma, 48, of the 1000 block of South Union Street, and Arthur D. Braaksma, 45, of the 1100 block of Watson Street appeared in bond court Monday morning in Aurora. Bond was set at $10,000 for Parsons and John Braaksma, $15,000 for Arthur Braaksma.

All three were taken to the Kane County jail, where they remain.
