Heritage Tennis Club celebrating renovation

The Arlington Heights Park District will hold a grand reopening 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, for the newly renovated Heritage Tennis Club at 7 W. College Drive.

The upgrade and expansion improved accessibility to the club and courts. It included a new entrance and lounge area, new locker rooms, enhanced energy efficiency with new HVAC and lighting, as well as a coed sauna and a large activity room for new programs and rental use.

Since 1987, the club has been home to eight indoor courts in a fully air-conditioned building with state-of-the-art lighting. Heritage Tennis Club was recognized by U.S. Tennis Association as "Outstanding Tennis Facility of the Year" in 1991. This was the club's first major renovation since it opened.

"This upgrade is exactly what our membership and participants wanted, and we are very appreciative for their patience during the yearlong renovation," said manager Chris Nisbet.

The reopening will include a 12:15 p.m. ribbon cutting, tours, champagne toast, beer tastings, free demos, kid activities, raffle prizes and giveaways. For information, go to www.ahpd.org/htc or call (847) 398-7780.
