Girls volleyball: Wauconda's a winner at Buffalo Grove
In first-round girls volleyball regional action at Buffalo Grove on Monday, Wauconda swept Buffalo Grove, 25-21, 25-18.
Lauren Sexton led the way for Wauconda with 6 kills while Amanda Mason and Nicole Carazas each finished with 5 kills apiece.
Jane Sakowicz had a team-high 11 digs and 3 service aces while Summer Olsen had 9 assists.
Mundelein d. Zion-Benton: In first round regional action at Warren, Mundelein out-lasted Zion-Benton in three sets, 17-25, 25-21, 25-20.
Sidney Brunkow had 9 kills while Taylor Heath had 8 kills for Mundelein. Amanda Bogseth added 4 blocks while Mackenzie Linane had 13 assists.
Defensively, Tess Pribyl led the way for the Mustangs with 14 digs.
Deerfield d. Grayslake North: Grayslake North was swept in first-round regional action by host Deerfield, 25-18, 25-20.
Jenna Pozezsinki had 7 kills for the Knights while Erin McBriarty had 7 assists and Taylor Johnston had 6 digs.
Antioch, Barrington win: In first round regional action at Waukegan, Antioch defeated Waukegan 25-12, 25-16 while Barrington defeated Round Lake, 25-11, 25-18.
