1 dead, 2 injured when vehicle crashes into bus shelter

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis police say one person is dead and two others are critically injured after a vehicle struck an IndyGo bus shelter.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department traffic investigators say the accident happened at about 3:25 a.m. Sunday. Police say the vehicle's driver told them he was traveling on a roadway when another vehicle struck him and forced him off the road and into the bus shelter. Police say three people were lying on the ground when officers arrived. One of the victims, 61-year-old Marvin Kinchlow, died at a hospital.

Police say the other two victims remain in critical condition.

Police are investigating.
