New era of bipartisanship

Hillary Clinton's problem in this campaign is she is married to Bill Clinton. Had she remained a single Hillary Rodham, and somehow accomplished being Senator and Secretary of State, she would be viewed in the same regard as Condoleeza Rice and be 10-12 points ahead of Mr. Trump.

She is highly qualified to be President. The President generally handles foreign policy, serves as Commander in Chief of the military, and is the face of the United States both here on TV or when visiting countries overseas. Hillary's foreign policy stance is already well known to a great many countries. Her election will calm jittery overseas governments that are afraid of the enigma that is Donald Trump.

The Legislative branch is designed to handle domestic issues. The Executive branch can put forth policies, but has no vote on them. The President and VP can use the public pulpit to advance their views, but that rarely moves Congress.

Hillary has a proven record of working with the opposite party to advance legislation for the public good. I hope her election, combined with Democrats taking back some Senate and House seats, may bring forth an new era of civil bipartisanship in Congress.

As President, Hillary will nominate a Supreme Court nominee that will finally get approved by Congress. It is my hope this will lead to the reversal of the infamous Citizens United ruling that opened the door to Super PAC funding of 17 GOP nominees and tediously long campaign seasons.

There are plenty of other issues where she stands taller than her opponent: tax reform, NATO, countering terrorism, responsible gun control, Social Security funding. The choice is clear. Hillary Rodham.
