Hilly Hundred likely to draw 2,500 cyclists to southern IN

ELLETTSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - The 49th annual Hilly Hundred Weekend is expected to draw more than 2,500 cyclists to roadways in south central Indiana on Saturday and Sunday.

Managing director Mark Bettinger tells The (Bloomington) Herald-Times (http://bit.ly/2dvKHtu ) last year's event drew 3,000 cyclists but organizers expect fewer than that this year.

The rides begin and end each day at Edgewood High School in Ellettsville, about 45 miles southwest of Indianapolis. Riders choose between routes ranging from 31 miles to more than 50 miles each day. Drivers are asked to slow down and be mindful of the cyclists.

Organizers pride themselves on creating a fun atmosphere for riders of all ages with live music at rest stops and a costume contest on Saturday morning.
