Culver's Partners with LifeSource to Help Save More Than 1,300 Lives

Culver's restaurants of Chicago were recently honored by LifeSource Blood Centers for its achievement of hosting several blood drives over the past year which resulted in helping to impact the lives of 1,329 people.

Several locally-owned and operated Culver's franchise owners were on hand to receive their award at the annual LifeSource 'Top 20 Luncheon' held at Halas Hall, home of the Chicago Bears, on October 11.

The Sauk City, Wisconsin-based ButterBurger and frozen custard chain was among more than 700 businesses, schools, places of worship, service and community organizations that held blood drives in the past 12 months. The top 20 honored on October 11 accounted for nearly 26 percent of LifeSource's total collections during that period.

In total, organizations recognized at the October 11 luncheon collected 22,465 units of blood, which helped support more than 67,000 lives.

"We are so thankful and appreciative of Culver's for helping encourage its employees to roll up their sleeves and support life," said LifeSource Executive Director Eva Quinley. "Giving blood is a selfless act. "Human blood can not be substituted and with one whole blood donation, we can impact the lives of up to three people."
