U.S. Constitution will never be obsolete
I understand that there is an idea being discussed that some Americans take the Constitution too seriously. Furthermore, they suggest it should be considered an obsolete, out of step with modern society document. Some teachers even embrace that idea, and I suspect their students will be taught that it is true.
However, the students would be unaware that some enemies of the U.S. support this idea. In January 1963, a list of goals of those enemies was placed in the Congressional Record. No. 29 on the list was, "Discredit the American constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs ... "
Why would they want that idea established? Simply because their idea of governance is radically different, and the Constitution stands in the way of transforming the U.S. Republic into an oligarchy. The Constitution has to be rendered ineffective to accomplish their goal.
However, the Constitution will never be obsolete, oldĀ fashioned or out of step with human nature. Our constitution was structured to permanently protect the people from the human frailties of our elected leaders. Thus, we are to be governed by law not by the whims of men.
The constitution will always be relevant and effective in producing prosperity and tranquillity. It did so in the l790s when it was introduced (much to the surprise of George Washington), and it would do the same today, if our leaders would honor their oaths of office and quit violating its provisions.
