Edmunds out of Moscow Grand Prix event with foot injury

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - U.S. silver medalist Polina Edmunds has withdrawn from the Rostelecom Cup in Moscow in early November as she continues her recovery from a right foot injury.

Edmunds, a 2014 Olympian, has resumed full training while continuing rehab. She plans to compete at the NHK Trophy in Japan at the end of November.

Also sidelined will be Tyler Pierce, whose lower back injury forced her to withdraw from the Trophee de France next month. She is slowly resuming training under the guidance of her medical team and coaching staff.

Mariah Bell will replace Angela Wang at Skate America, the first event of the Grand Prix season. Skate America in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, from Oct. 21-23 already has top Americans Ashley Wagner and Gracie Gold in the field. Wang has a right ankle injury and has resumed light training.
