Endorsements: Grasso, Krajewski in DuPage County Board Dist. 3

Dist. 3: Grasso, Krajewski

Voters in DuPage County Board District 3 will choose two new county board members in November. Republican incumbent Gary Grasso and his Democratic challenger, Joseph Heneghan of Woodridge, are competing for a two-year term. Republican incumbent Brian Krajewski and his Democratic challenger, Anna Schiefelbein of Woodridge are pursuing a four-year term.

Grasso, an attorney from Burr Ridge, has served on the county board since 2012, after previously serving as mayor of Burr Ridge. He is an effective board member who has been a proponent for consolidation and holding the line on taxes. He hasn't been afraid, on occasion, to butt heads with the sheriff's office over spending.

Krajewski, a CPA and attorney from Downers Grove, has served on the board since 2010 and previously served as Downers Grove mayor. Like Grasso, he has a strong understanding of county issues and works well with municipal officials in his district.

Both of their opponents are well meaning but lacking in specifics. Grasso and Krajewski are endorsed.

District 3 covers all or parts of Naperville, Woodridge, Downers Grove, Westmont, Darien, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge and Lemont.
