Eli's Cheesecake Cookbook Authors Coming to Schaumburg Library

"The Eli's Cheesecake Cookbook" program will be presented by two of the book's authors from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10 in the Rasmussen Room of the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. Registration is required for this free program. To register, call (847) 923-3347 or visit the Information Desk on the library's second floor. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

The Eli's Cheesecake Cookbook includes forty cheesecake recipes, as well as many of the foods that were popular at Eli's, The Place for Steak restaurant in Chicago. The book's publication coincided with the 35th anniversary of Eli's Cheesecake, a recipe developed by restaurateur Eli Schulman. His plain cheesecake became the restaurant's signature dessert, and was followed by many variations, including chocolate chip, espresso, banana, cinnamon rum raisin, and others.

Attendees will learn about Eli's Cheesecake history and get insight into the secrets of this local delicacy. This program is part of the Schaumburg Library's "Chicagoland: Read All About It" series.
