Girls swimming: MSL wins for Fremd, Barrington, BG

Fremd's girls swimming and diving team improved to 3-1 against Mid-Suburban West foes with a 109-72 victory over visiting Schaumburg on Thursday.

The Vikings had top finishes from all the relays and a winning score of 217.95 in diving from Emily Zuckowski.

Other individual winners for the Vikes includes Marie Grzybek in the 200-yard free (2:06.73), Lauren Savage in th 200 IM (2:19.57), Paulina Pappas in the 50 free (27.65) and Rebecca Ballo in the 500 free (5:31.25).

Saxons freshman Hana Mollin continued to excel and was a winner in both the 100 fly (1:00.30) and the 100 back (1:03.15).

Barrington d. Conant: Junior Emma Graves won the 100 free and 200 IM as the visiting Fillies remained unbeaten this season with a 120-63 victory over the host Cougars.

Other victors for the Fillies included Ally Penrod in the 50 free (25.28), Maggie Emary in the 200 free (1:57.33), Catherine Kitzman in the 100 fly (1:00.83), Bridget O'Leary in the 500 free (5:13.60), Becca Galovich in the 100 back (1:04.15) and Julie Vega in the 100 breast (1:11.15).

Barrington would wrap up an unbeaten run through the MSL West with a victory against Palatine next Thursday.

Buffalo Grove d. Elk Grove: The visiting Bison topped the Grens 123-58 in improving to 3-1 against Mid-Suburban East opponents.

Buffalo Grove won all the relays and had a double winner in sophomore Deimante Rutkauskaite (200 free, 500 free).

Samantha Swanson (100 back), Emily Schulstad (50 free), Diana Morosan (100 fly), Sarah Harner (50 free) and Claudia Speil (100 breast) also had top finishes for the Bison.

Elk Grove sophomore Anna Sprenger produced another strong score (216.00) in winning diving.
