Are you confident sufficient steps have been taken to avoid a repeat in November? What role, if any, should the county board have in such matters?I don't believe the person running that office is qualified to run it and we will still have issues in November. The board needs to make sure that office has the resources and trained people to run the elections. Why are you running for this office, whether for re-election or election for the first time? Is there a particular issue that motivates you? If so, what?I believe I can help the cost cutting programs I started with MCCG grow to include all government bodies in McHenry better at the county level. Cutting costs and making the needed reforms to stop Nepotism, Favoritism, and bid rigging, and consolidating government while maintaining a higher level of quality are my big issues.Describe your position regarding the balance between county spending and revenues as it exists today, then describe the chief threats you see looming in the future and how the county should deal with them.I believe there is wasteful spending that we need to find and get rid of. We need to run the county like a business complete with line item budgets showing justification for the money that is being requested. I think the tax levies are not based on true needs as in the huge surplus we have in Valley Hi. We also have to stop continuing to put off making decisions and holding more meetings than needed to make those decisions. How do you rate the county government on transparency and the public's access to records? If you consider it adequate, please explain why. If you think improvements are needed, please describe them and why they are important.Since the county keeps getting in trouble because of this issue, I would have to say we are not rated very high at all. We need faster approval of past meeting minutes. All the agendas need more detail or all the documents that are being referenced to be included in the packet the public is getting. Please list any elected office you've ever run for and what the result of that election was. Have you ever been appointed to fill an unexpired term?I ran for this position back in 2008 and lost in the primary by only a few hundred votes. I ran unopposed for Village of Hebron Trustee in 2013.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Cutting government down by either eliminating or consolidating redundant or obsolete government departments. Illinois Code reforms to close loopholes that let someone qualify and or stay in office that should not have qualified or be allowed to stay in office. Or the injustice of not giving everyone the right to elect and control their elected officials based on population. And last, changing the rules on the public's rights to petition their elected officials. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Bernie SandersWhat is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Be honest and take responsibility for your actions. If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Do more to have helped my second step-son.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Business it helped me get ahead at work.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Be honest and take responsibility for your actions.
