Toronto regains East Conference lead with draw vs Orlando

TORONTO (AP) - Toronto FC regained the Eastern Conference lead after holding on for a 0-0 draw against Orlando City despite giving up a one-man advantage for the last 20 minutes Wednesday after Tosaint Ricketts picked up a second yellow card.

Greg Vanney's team has lost just once in 12 games in MLS, but has not won at home since Aug. 6.

Lamar Neagle scored a goal and created another as D.C. United scored three times in the last 20 minutes of a 3-0 win over Columbus Crew, remaining in sixth place in the East and moving two points behind fourth-place Philadelphia.

At Seattle, Chad Marshall headed in from a corner kick in the 24th minute to help the Sounders beat Chicago 1-0 and get back into the MLS playoff picture.

The Sounders have 41 points and climbed into a share of the sixth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference. The loss ensured Chicago was eliminated from postseason contention.

Matteo Mancosu set up first-half goals for Dominic Oduro and Ignacio Piatti and Montreal beat San Jose 3-1 to end a four-game winless streak.
