Villas offer many chances to socialize

At The Moorings of Arlington Heights, life is good. People are engaged — engaged in living life to its fullest. They may be retired, yet they're anything but retiring.

Residents are very friendly and welcoming. There is a committee that introduces new residents around and arranges for dinner partners the first few days. The shared commonality is extraordinary.

A complete fitness center with lap pool and whirlpool. including exercise equipment designed for older adults. In addition, fitness classes such as tai chi and yoga are popular.

What's the coolest thing about living in the Villas neighborhood?

The evening walks and the opportunities to stop and talk to your neighbors. In addition, the villa residents do identify with their street or block and there is a sense of camaraderie.

What if I love to garden; are there areas in my yard that I can plant and maintain?

You are free to garden around your patio or along the side of your villa. Or if you prefer the social aspects of community gardening, that also is available.

Describe the typical person or couple looking for housing in the Villas.

Typically a couple who is downsizing, but does not want an apartment. They may be in their 70s and still very active. They want a place to hang their hat, but they still have a lot of outside interests that keep them on the go.

How easy is it for friends and family to visit?

Residents entertain guests all the time. Guests may stay with a resident, or in a guest suite on campus. The main building has private dining rooms where you can host a family celebration or a special event.
