Sling TV Capitalizing on Presidential Debate With Free Preview

If you've been meaning to try Sling TV, this is your chance.

The Dish-owned Web-TV service on Friday announced that it will offer an 18-hour free preview next week, so anyone can catch the first presidential debate and the Atlanta-New Orleans football game; it's the first time Sling is offering this type of free preview.

"This preview is one hundred percent free and gives all Americans the opportunity to watch the first Presidential debate and more; I can't think of a better night to welcome new Sling TV viewers to experience our service," CEO Roger Lynch said in a statement.

The Sling TV free preview event starts at 8 a.m. ET on Monday, meaning you can watch pre-debate coverage, the beginning of the Falcons-Saints football game, which starts at 8:30, before (hopefully) flipping over to the debate at 9 p.m. ET. The free period will end at 2 a.m. ET the following day, so you can also check out post-debate coverage and game highlights.

To take advantage of this offer, all you'll need is a valid email address and password-no credit card or payment required. New Sling TV users can sign up at sling.com/watchfree. Those who do will receive access to all Sling Orange core service programming, which includes more than 25 channels-including ESPN, CNN, AMC, Comedy Central, Bloomberg Television-and typically costs $20 a month.

Meanwhile, there's really no excuse to miss the debate, as there are a number of other ways you can watch it for free, besides on Sling TV. It will also be live streamed on YouTube, ABC News, BuzzFeed News, CBS News, CNN, C-SPAN, The Daily Caller, Facebook, Fox News, Hulu, Huffington Post, NBC, PBS, Politico, Telemundo, The Wall Street Journal, Twitter, Univision, and Yahoo.
