Senior Star at Weber Place Leads Fundraising Efforts for Walk to End Alzheimer's® - Will County

ROMEOVILLE, IL (September 19, 2016) - Senior Star at Weber Place is thrilled to be participating in the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer's® - Will County on Saturday, October 8 at Rock Run Forest Preserve, 3395 Black Road, Joliet. Friends and neighbors are encouraged to join Senior Star's team as they walk and raise awareness for a disease that affects so many Americans. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by a special ceremony at 9:30 a.m., and then they're off and walking at 10 a.m.

To date, Team Weber has raised more than $30,000 in support of Alzheimer's research and care, placing them in the top fifty fundraising teams in the nation and the number one team in the Will County area for 2016. In addition, Senior Star and its owners will provide matching support for walk funding, making contributions and funds raised that much more valuable.

Senior Star at Weber Place continues to be on the forefront of offering innovative services that provide purpose through the creation of signature programs specifically for their residents living with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.

According to the Alzheimer's Association's website, more than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer's; Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States; and one in three seniors will die from Alzheimer's or another form of dementia. As care providers, Senior Star associates understand the impact of these astonishing statistics and observe firsthand the personal, social and financial challenges caused by this disease and comprehend the importance of caring for these individuals while supporting efforts to find a cure.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research.
