McCoughtry suspended one game for accruing seventh technical

NEW YORK (AP) - Atlanta Dream star Angel McCoughtry was suspended by the WNBA for one game on Monday for receiving her seventh technical foul of the season.

Under league rules, a player or coach is automatically suspended without pay for one game upon receiving a seventh technical foul during the regular season. For every two additional technical fouls received during that regular season, the player or coach will be automatically suspended for an additional game.

McCoughtry incurred her sixth and seventh technical fouls with 3:13 remaining in the second quarter during Sunday's game at the Phoenix Mercury. She will serve the suspension on Tuesday when the Dream host the San Antonio Stars.

Atlanta is in a three-way tie for fourth place with Indiana and Chicago.

McCoughtry is averaging 19.2 points and 5.7 rebounds to lead the Dream (16-15).
