Wings end 11-game skid with 92-84 victory over Stars

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Odyssey Sims scored 20 points to help Dallas end a 11-game losing streak with a 92-84 victory over the San Antonio Stars on Friday night.

Skylar Diggins added 16 points for the Wings, who took control early with an 11-0 run and were up 28-16 after one quarter as Aerial Powers scored five points in the last 24 seconds. It was a 10-point game at the half and the Stars never got closer than eight in the fourth quarter.

The victory was the 100th of coach Fred Williams' career and helped the team earn its first victory since July 5.

The Wings (10-21) made 24 of 27 free throws in the second half with Sims hitting 9 of 10 and Karima Christmas 8 of 9. Courtney Paris had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Moriah Jefferson scored 27 points and Haley Peters 19 for San Antonio (6-24). Monique Currie and Jayne Appel-Marinelli, who announced her retirement effective at the end of the season on Thursday, had 13 each.
