New Primrose School hosts grand opening

Aspiring to make a difference in the lives of children and their families in greater Chicago, franchise owner Jenny Wierzchon hosted a grand opening event for local families to celebrate the new Primrose School of Long Grove Saturday, Aug. 27.

The grand opening celebration featured school tours and other family-friendly activities, including a magic show and visits from Primrose Friend Percy, a balloon sculptor and a DJ. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce to officially celebrate the opening of the school.

Wierzchon is thrilled to bring a new Primrose school to the Long Grove community.

"As a lifelong educator, I've always recognized and appreciated the power of high-quality education and care," Wierzchon said.

"When I encountered Primrose Schools, I knew the incredible Balanced Learning approach would offer an unparalleled early learning experience for local children. It is my honor to be in a position to provide the children of Long Grove with the foundation they need to succeed in school and in life."

Primrose School of Long Grove officially opened its doors to students Monday, Aug. 15, and is the fourth Primrose school in the Chicago area. Adding approximately 25 jobs and $4.5 million in project costs to the local economy, the 14,000-square-foot school is poised to serve more than 180 local children and their families.

Primrose School of Long Grove features 11 private classrooms with wireless technology and four secure, age-appropriate playgrounds. The school also features a Primrose Patch garden for gardening and nature study activities.

The school offers the Primrose-exclusive Balanced Learning approach, which blends purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion for children 6 weeks to prekindergarten.

For students up to age 12, Primrose School of Long Grove offers the Primrose Explorers after-school program. Additionally, the new school features the Primrose Schools Safe School Plan, which ensures comprehensive safety measures are in place and all staff members are prepared to manage emergency situations.
