Forest View hosting open house for alumni Saturday

Calling all former Falcons - alumni from the now-closed Forest View High School in Arlington Heights are invited back to campus Saturday for an open house.

The former high school, today known as the Forest View Educational Center, now houses Northwest Suburban High School District 214's alternative programs, including Vanguard, Forest View Academy and the Newcomer Center. It also hosts District 214 administrative offices and classes held in conjunction with Robert Morris University.

Forest View High School opened in 1962 as the third high school in Northwest Suburban District 214. It closed in 1986 amid declining enrollment.

Saturday's open house will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include self-guided tours, opportunities to chat with former teachers and administrators, yearbooks for viewing, and a video booth in which alumni can record favorite Falcon memories.

There also will be snacks in the cafeteria and Forest View High School T-shirts for sale.

No RSVP is necessary. The open house is part of an ongoing effort to re-engage and reconnect with District 214 alumni.
