Voltaggio closing 4 Family Meal restaurants in 2 states
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - Celebrity chef Bryan Voltaggio says he's closing four of five Family Meal restaurants in two states.
Voltaggio told The Frederick News-Post Tuesday that the Hagerstown, Maryland, location will close this fall.
The Baltimore Sun reported Monday that Voltaggio's company recently closed locations in Baltimore; and Richmond and Ashburn, Virginia.
Voltaggio says his company is focusing on the brand's flagship restaurant in Frederick, Maryland. He says they still plan to open a Family Meal at Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
The brand features upscale diner food such as chicken pot-pie fritters, house-made pastrami and gingerbread doughnuts.
Voltaggio was a 2009 finalist on the Bravo TV show "Top Chef." His other restaurant brands include Volt, Aggio, Range and Lunchbox.
