LA Sparks sign veteran F/C Sandrine Gruda for 2nd stint

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Los Angeles Sparks have signed forward-center Sandrine Gruda for her second stint with the WNBA team.

Gruda spent last season with the French national team preparing for the Rio Olympics, where they finished fourth.

She was originally acquired by the Sparks in 2014 from Connecticut in a trade for draft picks. Gruda played 34 games with them before returning to France last year.

In 119 career games with Los Angeles and Connecticut, Gruda averaged 8.3 points and 4.2 rebounds.

In another move, the Sparks waived rookie guard Whitney Knight. The second-round draft pick averaged 0.9 points and 0.4 rebounds in seven games.
