Giants make 4 roster moves, 2 cut, 2 waived injury

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - The New York Giants have released four players, including Nikita Whitlock, who played fullback, defensive tackle and on special teams last season.

The Giants announced Monday that Whitlock (foot) and tight end Matt LaCosse (knee) were waived/injured. Wide receiver Myles White and long snapper Tyler Ott were waived.

White played in 12 games last season, catching seven passes, including a touchdown. Ott replaced the injured Zak DeOssie as the long snapper in the season finale against Philadelphia.

Whitlock won the fullback job from Henry Hynoski in training camp last season. He was on the field for 132 offensive plays, 61 defensive plays (one sack), and 276 special teams plays before hurting a knee in late December and being played on injured reserve.

LaCosse was signed to the Giants practice squad in early November. He was added to the active roster on Christmas Day.
