Pence making 2 stops in North Carolina to talk manufacturing

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence wants to discuss North Carolina's economy so he's visiting two plants in the state.

The Indiana governor planned to begin Wednesday morning by going to Charlotte Pipe and Foundry to speak about manufacturing. Then Pence is heading to Wilmington, where he will tour Carolina Marine Terminal before holding a rally in Leland at Manufacturing Methods, which bills itself as a "factory for hire" to engineer and fabricate parts.

Pence held campaign events in Pennsylvania on Tuesday and has been a regular visitor to North Carolina, another battleground state. Running mate Donald Trump held a rally in Charlotte last Thursday. Democratic VP nominee Tim Kaine was in Asheville and Fayetteville early last week.
