Joliet woman dies from crash injuries in Aurora

A 33-year-old Joliet woman has died from injuries in an Aug. 11 crash on Aurora's far east side, authorities said Monday.

Erin Buck died Saturday at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

Police said Buck was driving her 2011 Hyundai Elantra on Heggs Road about 4:50 p.m. Thursday when witnesses said she began to inch out from the stop sign at Route 30. She then suddenly pulled in front of a truck on Route 30 driven by a 58-year-old New Jersey man.

The truck driver hit his brakes and swerved, but ended up striking Buck's car on the driver's side. Buck was extricated by firefighters, who took her to Copley.

The truck driver was not injured. Both Buck and the truck driver were the lone occupants of their vehicles.

There were no signs of drug or alcohol use at the scene and no autopsy will be performed.

The crash still is being investigated.
