Bradley University will have larger freshmen class this year

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) - Enrollment at Bradley University for the upcoming academic year increased with about 150 more freshmen than what the school has had in recent years.

University President Gary Roberts says about 1,100 freshmen will begin classes Aug. 24. He tells the Pekin Daily Times (http://bit.ly/2aSA2hr ) that the university had under 950 freshmen the last two years and says that number is financially unsustainable for the school.

Total enrollment for the university this year is expected to be at least 5,200.

Roberts attributes the enrollment increase in part to data-driven analysis to target students likely to accept offers from the university.
