Pedestrian spots marijuana plants along Indianapolis trail

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis authorities say a pedestrian spotted several marijuana plants, most of them in pots, near a hiking trail.

The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/2bfWa4K ) the hiker called police to report the plants along a stretch of Monon Trail on Saturday around 1:30 p.m. Indianapolis police found 10 plants. Nine of the plants were in pots and one was in the ground. They were in a field near the pathway.

Police collected the plants and put them in the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's narcotics vault.
