Former Alcatel-Lucent building for sale

A legendary building that has housed some of the earliest tech companies along the I-88 technology corridor in Naperville is for sale.

The five-story office building at 1960 Lucent Lane near Warrenville Road in Naperville is being marketed by Cushman and Wakefield, which has offices in Chicago and Rosemont. The building, sometimes known as Indian Hill, once housed ATT Bell Labs, and then later Lucent, Alcatel-Lucent and finally Nokia. Alcatel-Lucent was acquired by Espoo, Finland-based Nokia, which completed the merger in January.

Nokia hired Cushman to put the building on the block about 1½ months ago and already has had some interest from potential buyers, said Chris Wood, a broker at Cushman & Wakefield who is representing Nokia.

Wood declined to provide a price on the building.

"It's a great broad-based building that could be a corporate headquarters or a multi-tenant building. It's all very high quality," Wood said.
