Sober-living home to host 12 men in Crystal Lake
CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (AP) - A Crystal Lake man is preparing to open a sober-living residence for men in recovery for drug or alcohol addiction.
The Northwest Herald (http://bit.ly/2aGPmts ) reports that Chris Reed and New Directions Addiction Recovery Services recently acquired the residence in order to provide a support network and stable environment that'll facilitate those individuals' growth toward becoming a positive and productive member of society.
Case managers will meet with each resident to identify areas of improvement and set goals, such as building a resume, reobtaining a driver's license or paying off court fines.
Reed says the 12-person facility is expected to open by Oct. 1 after construction and renovations to the property.
Reed also owns The Other Side, a sober bar that opened in Crystal Lake in 2013.
