Little Bear Ribfest

Bring a lawn chair, relax by the lake and listen to blues at Little Bear Ribfest from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, and 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in Century Park, 1001 Lakeview Parkway, just north of Route 60 in Vernon Hills. Admission is $5. Big Ed's BBQ, Real Urban Barbecue, The Full Slab Smokehouse and Bar, Uncle Bub's, BBQ'd Productions Bar & Grill and Smokin' T's Bar-B-Que will sell ribs at a nominal cost. Entertainment showcases local blues artists Kevin Purcell & the Nightburners at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by John Primer & the Real Deal Blues Band at 9 p.m. The Red, White, and Blues Band performs at 6 p.m. Saturday, Chicago Blues Super Session follows at 7 p.m. and the event wraps up at 9 p.m. with Mark Hummel & the Blues Survivors.
