Vote now for Suburban Chicago's Got Talent Fan Favorite

The last round of online voting for Suburban Chicago's Got Talent is under way, and time is running out to help your favorite act get recognized when winners are announced Saturday, Aug. 6.

Videos of the Top 10 performers are posted at dailyherald.com/entertainment/talent, where fans can vote for their favorite acts through noon Friday, Aug. 5.

The act with the most online votes over the course of the entire competition will be named Fan Favorite and announced along with the ultimate winner of Suburban Chicago's Got Talent on Saturday, following a 2:30 p.m. performance of the Top 10 at the Taste of Arlington Heights. The concert is at Vail Avenue and Campbell Street in downtown Arlington Heights.

The Fan Favorite wins an entertainment package with gift cards from local restaurants, theaters and attractions valued at more than $600. The grand prize winner, determined by the contest's judges, receives a "STARter Kit," which includes the chance to open for a national headline act at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles and to perform at Schaumburg's Septemberfest. The prize package valued at $5,000 also includes career mentoring by Onesti Entertainment and professional video and still photo shoots of a live performance and production.

Last year, the contest ended in a tie with singer and guitarist Ryan Cooper of Schaumburg and the band Burke Valley sharing top honors. Singer-songwriter Meghan Foley of Villa Park was last year's Fan Favorite and she is competing again this year as part of the band Fenced In.

For 2016, Suburban Chicago's Got Talent is co-sponsored by the Daily Herald, Onesti Entertainment, the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg, the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, Amita Health, Valli Produce, Salon Lorrene and Zeigler Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Schaumburg.
