Your opinion wanted in McHenry Health survey

Make your voice heard in the 2016 McHenry County Healthy Community Study.

This online survey asks for opinions about county health issues and service availability/accessibility. Updated every three to five years, the survey is open through the first week in August. The anonymous survey is found online at the health department website, www.mcdh.info, as well as websites for The Healthy Community Partnership member organizations.

Paper copies are available from partner agencies and will be distributed at upcoming events and festivals. The survey is offered in English and Spanish.

Also conducted in 2006, 2010 and 2014, survey responses help determine the priorities of residents for health and a healthy lifestyle in McHenry County. Partner agencies use the results to define plans impacting the barriers respondents identify. Besides McHenry County Department of Health, partner agencies include Advocate Good Shepherd and Sherman Hospitals, Centegra Health System, Community Health Partnership Clinic, McHenry County Mental Health Board, McHenry County Substance Abuse Coalition, Pioneer Center for Human Services, Rosecrance of McHenry County and United Way of McHenry County.

Residents are urged to share their thoughts during the month of July or the first week of August. Mike Hill, Administrator for McHenry County Department of Health, stated "Whether a resident currently uses services or not, we encourage participation from all residents. Getting a cross section of the County will help us to create the most complete picture possible." Hill went on to note that the survey is designed so that it is opinion based, respondents are anonymous and it is easy to complete.
