NCH Lunch-and-Learn program focuses on substance abuse, depression

Northwest Community Healthcare is hosting a Lunch-and-Learn presentation featuring John McGillen, M.D., who will discuss substance abuse and depression and how the disorders can be treated.

Dr. McGillen also will discuss why substance abuse and depression occur and the relationship between the disorders. The presentation, which includes a light lunch, is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights. Registration is required by calling (847) 253-5532.

Dr. McGillen is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious disease and previously served as medical director at NCH.

NCH offers several monthly classes and programs at the Senior Center. Nurses are available two days each week to provide free blood pressure checks and to answer health care questions.
