Palatine Park District hosts pet food drive

The Palatine Park District staff service committee is hosting its third annual pet needs drive through Thursday, Aug, 4.

Items that are being collected during this pet drive include dry and canned cat food, dry and canned dog food, dog and cat treats, and new dog and cat toys, beds and accessories.

Donations will be delivered to Palatine Township Food Pantry, Barb's Precious Rescue and Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation. This is the committee's third pet drive event.

Items can be dropped off at five locations throughout the park district, including Community Center, 250 E. Wood St.; Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Ave.; Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road; Palatine Hills Golf Course, 512 W. Northwest Hwy.; and Palatine Stables, 1510 W. Northwest Hwy.

Donations will also be accepted at the Park District's Canine Carnival from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater. Registered Canine Carnival participants who donate at the event will receive an additional free raffle ticket.
