Good program for nonviolent offenders
Hats off to DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin for bringing out a program for first time nonviolent offenders that can lead to their charges being dismissed and their record expunged.
The requirement for entry, joining the military, could be the answer for those that have lost their direction and need the discipline the military could provide to get on course.
It is gratifying knowing that this opportunity is now there for those wanting to straighten out their lives, who need a helping hand, not the start of a criminal record that could lead to missed opportunities and a life of crime.
