Cheryl Scott takes over ABC 7 10 p.m. weather report from Taft

ABC 7 Chief Meteorologist Jerry Taft will be handing the weather report on the 10 p.m. newscast over to Cheryl Scott starting Aug. 1.

As part of changes announced this week, Taft will handle the weather forecast for ABC 7's 6 p.m. newscast and the 7 p.m. newscast on WCIU-TV. Scott will take over the 10 p.m. ABC 7 slot on weekdays as well as giving reports on the 4 and 5 p.m. newscasts.

"After all the late nights doing weather for more than 20 years, I'm really looking forward to handing off the late shift to someone who is as passionate about weather as Cheryl Scott," Taft said in a release. "It will be great to get home at a decent hour and hit the sack earlier."
