Jazz rules the night in Glen Ellyn

Downtown Glen Ellyn became a jazz hub Saturday with a series of concerts, clinics and meet-and-greets that were part of the Jazz Up Glen Ellyn event.

The annual music fest, sponsored by the village and Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn, attracted a variety of jazz musicians and a large number of fans who attended the free concerts along Main Street.

Guitarist Fareed Haque, a Glen Ellyn native, was one of those who performed.

"When they asked me to be in the festival," he said in the days leading up to the event, "it was like coming home again."
