Suburban man denied bail in fatal Chicago shooting
CHICAGO (AP) - A suburban Chicago man has been charged in the death of a man and the wounding of a woman as they drove along a Chicago street.
Chicago police say 37-year-old Norberto Frausto of Countryside was arrested Wednesday in Ingham County, Michigan on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder. Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. on Friday ordered Frausto held without bail.
Frausto is charged in connection with the death of 27-year-old Sami Salaymeh of Hanover Park, who police say was a passenger with three others in a pickup truck traveling along South Michigan Avenue when a car pulled up next to them and shots were fired.
Prosecutors say Frausto told two women who were passengers in the car that he had a bullet for each if they told anyone about what he did.
It wasn't immediately known if Frausto has legal representation.
