32 Aurora Scouts cross bridge in advancement ritual

During an annual advancement ritual May 17, 32 Cub Scouts from Pack 358 at Hall Elementary School in Aurora walked over Bliss Creek bridge in Sugar Grove to confirm their promotions.

Aurora resident Fred Longo, Pack 358 Cubmaster, presided at the crossover ceremony at Bliss Woods Forest Preserve.

After crossing the bridge, Scouts from Tiger, Bear and Wolf dens received handbooks reflecting their new ranks from adult pack leaders.

In a ceremony led by Longo, Scouts and leaders retired a worn U.S. flag that had flown over Hall School. Hall Principal Cherie Esposito had donated the flag.

It was followed by a picnic with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Other activities included informal games, a presentation about Scouting history, and a drone flyover.
